The Write Twitter Goal

Today I will prove to you why writers need to be on and using Twitter.

In the last year I have:
  • Met and been inspired by a diverse array of talented writers and thinkers reaching out to anyone who would listen in 140 characters or less.
  • Participated in #journchat, #editorchat and #writechat.
  • Interacted with some 1,500 followers at varying levels.
  • Spread the word about interesting sites, books worthy causes and people.
  • Connected with old friends.
  • Found new sources.
  • Enjoyed real-time glimpses into what people all over the world are doing at any given moment.
  • Won tickets to the jazz jubilee and half price dinner at L Wine Lounge.
  • Learned about new software.
  • Read a progressive novel (written as a community effort in 140-character increments).

Last week, the Twitter experience moved to a new level of productivity for me. Anna DeStefana, an Atlanta-based paranormal romantic suspense author started a new Twitter meeting place under the hashtag #writegoal. Writers state their goals in the morning then report back that evening. We all hold each other accountable and and cheer every success as our own.

Examples include:

Ash_twitter_normalwiremamma Today - get WIP big character intro scene completed - looking at 1k words. Good luck w/ your goals, everyone! #writegoal
Dsc_0200a_2png_normaljenniholbrook #writegoal reading through everyone's goals. Its going to be a productive day! I just know it.

How is that for inspiring? Are you convinced? Join the conversation. Tell us your goals. Share your secrets for reaching them and celebrate with us as we bring new works of literary art into the world.
