Where Does Your Book Grow?

One of the wonderful things about being a writer is that you can practice your craft anywhere - almost.

As mobile as writing sounds with the help of laptops and cell phones, finding a quiet place, that isn't too quiet, can be a challenge. We have talked about when we write - between dropping off kids and making dinner, early morning, late at night - but now I would like to hear about your where.

  • Do you have a home office devoted to pads of paper, books on dialogue and plotting?
  • Do you share space with the sewing machine and fight for an outlet with the television?
  • Do you work at a coffee shop, inspired by the diverse set of characters that come and go all day?
  • Do you go to an office, perhaps a shared office, to be inspired by coworkers?
This month the MasterMind Group will be hosted by the Sacramento co-working space Urban Hive (more details to come later) for a day of sharing, encouragement and goal-setting. As we test drive this creative option, please share with us where you work and why. What do you like best about your arrangement? What are the challenges. We just may have some suggestions that will feed your spirit and your productivity.

Yours in Writing,
