Writing Resolution Check-Up

Time for a writing resolution check-up. Are you reaching your word count goals? Have you been querying editors? Are you almost done with your book proposal?

Or did life get in the way and you got distracted with work and the kids, a winter cough have you down. Those things can happen. I know.

The best way to get back on track is to find someone to hold you accountable. Do you have a writing partner? Share the byline and you could double your productivity.

If the job turned out to be bigger than you had anticipated, then maybe you need a ghostwriter - a professional you pay to turn your ideas into chapters and finished products. There is nothing like writing a check to keep you focused on the goal.

Creating a writing habit is not that much different than an exercise routine. If you work out with a friend or hire a trainer, you are more likely to get out of bed on those cold mornings to do squats and lifts.

In addition to guilting you onto the straight and narrow, a support network is also there to celebrate when you finish your rough draft or lose that dreaded 10 pounds.

Now, if I could just figure out a way to write on the treadmill while drinking coffee with my MasterMind Group, I'm pretty sure I could take over the world. This is powerful stuff.

Are you keeping your resolutions? What is your secret?

Yours in Writing,
